Job Description

We are hiring for CMA/RMA for OBGYN clinics in the Triad area.

Candidates MUST have an active CMA or RMA (CCMA, CNA, CMAA need not apply)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled OBGYN Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive clinical and administrative support within obstetrics and gynecology settings, ensuring exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations. This role is essential in facilitating smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality medical support in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will possess a strong foundation in medical procedures, anatomy, and physiology, with experience supporting both outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynecological services.

Duties

Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
Support physicians during examinations, minor procedures, and surgeries such as those performed in outpatient clinics or operating rooms.
Administer medications, injections, and vaccines following proper protocols while maintaining patient safety.
Perform basic diagnostic tasks including X-ray processing, specimen collection, and assisting with ultrasound procedures.
Manage documentation related to ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and record accuracy.
Monitor patient progress by recording vital signs, updating charts, and communicating relevant information to the healthcare team.
Support hospital medicine units such as the Geriatrics department or PICU when required, demonstrating versatility across inpatient settings.
Assist with emergency medicine situations within Level I or Level II trauma centers by providing prompt support under supervision.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies related to medical-surgical care, internal medicine protocols, and trauma center standards.
Experience

Proven experience supporting obstetrics and gynecology clinics or departments within outpatient or inpatient settings.
Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
Prior experience working in dermatology, urgent care, or emergency medicine settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to female reproductive health, physiology principles, and medication administration protocols.
Demonstrated ability to operate EHR systems efficiently while managing patient data securely.
Experience with ICD coding processes for accurate billing purposes.
Background supporting diverse patient populations across geriatrics, internal medicine, or medical-surgical units.
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Strong organizational skills complemented by excellent communication abilities to serve patients effectively across various clinical environments.
