What you’ll own

• Dimensional inspections on turbine components, machined parts, and work-in-process per engineering drawings, BOMs, customer requirements, and internal standards.
• First-article and in-process checks executed on the shop floor.
• Use of precision instruments: height gages, verniers, inside/outside/depth micrometers, dial indicators, thread/bore gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.
• Expert interpretation of blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and GD&T.
• Accurate documentation of inspection findings and quality records; prompt nonconformance reporting.
• Collaboration with Production and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Verification of gauge/tool suitability and calibration status prior to measurement.
• Safe operation of overhead cranes, hoists, and material-handling equipment; careful handling to prevent damage.
• Maintaining a safe, orderly workspace and adhering to safety policies.
• Active participation in training and continuous improvement.

Schedule and shift options

• 1st Shift: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• 2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
• 2nd Shift Differential: Additional 10%

Required background

• 3–5 years in manufacturing/machining quality inspection roles.
• Demonstrated proficiency reading/interpreting precision measurements.
• Hands-on experience setting up and using height gages, verniers, micrometers (ID/OD/depth), thread and bore gages, and dial indicators.
• Proficiency reading prints, drawings, BOMs, specs, and work instructions; working knowledge of GD&T.
• Strong math, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to follow procedures and communicate well; comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license; 18+ years old; high school diploma or GED.

Bonus points

• CMM operation experience.
• Experience with ZEISS CONTURA 2 and CALYPSO.
• Inspection of industrial turbine or other large, tight-tolerance components.
• Background in precision machining, component repair, or refurbishment.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system.

Physical demands

• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Capability to safely lift and move materials.
• Manual dexterity for safe, accurate instrument handling.
• Visual acuity sufficient for detailed drawings, instruments, and records.
• Ability to work safely around cranes, hoists, and industrial machinery.
