About the Role: DES Micro Precision Group LLC is looking for a skilled CMM Inspector to join our precision manufacturing team in Paterson, NJ. Responsibilities:
Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect machined components and assemblies
Interpret and verify parts against engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and customer specifications
Perform dimensional inspection and document measurement results with accuracy and thoroughness
Identify non-conforming parts and communicate findings to production and engineering teams
Maintain calibration records and ensure CMM equipment is properly maintained
Support first article inspections (FAI) and in-process quality checks
Collaborate with machinists and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Proven experience operating CMM equipment (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar software preferred)
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment
Familiarity with hand measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection documentation practices
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines in a team environment
