The CMM Inspector is responsible for performing advanced visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies. This role requires strong experience with CMM programming and operation, precision measurement tools, and quality documentation, as well as the ability to support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay range: $20-35/hr. Depending on Experience
1st and 2nd Shift positions available
Will work 40-50hrs/week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials
- Select and utilize standard gauges and precision measurement tools to ensure quality and compliance
- Inspect feature tolerances by selecting tools with the required accuracy
- Perform complex inspections using CMMs
- Program and set up CMMs to achieve required inspection results
- Review and verify documentation including certifications, specifications, and conformance records
- Inspect hardware according to engineering drawings, purchase orders, industry standards, and internal specifications
- Ensure all inspected parts meet specifications or properly document and report nonconformances
- Support the development and execution of inspection plans
- Participate in corrective action processes, including verification of corrective action implementation
- Provide quality support to internal teams and external partners regarding inspection requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain accurate inspection records and reports in accordance with company quality system requirements
