In this role, you'll utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), laser tracking systems, portable measurement equipment, and advanced metrology software to inspect parts, assemblies, tooling, and finished products. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in quality inspection, aerospace manufacturing, composites, metrology, tooling, or advanced manufacturing environments.
What You'll DoInspection & Measurement
- Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment and precision measurement tools
- Inspect components, assemblies, tooling, materials, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering requirements
- Utilize laser trackers, portable CMMs, and 3D scanning equipment when required
- Analyze measurement data and identify quality concerns or non-conformances
Documentation & Reporting
- Generate and maintain detailed quality documentation, including:
- First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports
- Dimensional Inspection Reports
- Drawing-Based Inspection Reports
- Model-Based Definition (MBD) Reports
- Ensure inspection records are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
- Maintain documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements
Blueprint & Engineering Review
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and CAD-related documentation
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles during inspections
- Verify products meet dimensional and functional requirements
Quality Support
- Support internal and external quality audits
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities
- Verify calibration status and functionality of inspection equipment
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and efficiency
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, metrology, composites, or a related field
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Faro, Leica, or API Laser Trackers
- Faro Arm or Romer Arm Portable CMMs
- 3D Laser Scanning Equipment
- Total Stations
- Experience using metrology software such as:
- PolyWorks
- Verisurf
- Spatial Analyzer
- BuildIT
- 3D CAD experience
- Aerospace, composites, tooling, assembly, or advanced manufacturing experience
- First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
