The Planner, CMM is responsible for supporting the senior planner with the strategic planning, marketing execution, and lifecycle management of an assigned vehicle nameplate to drive sales performance, profitability, and long-term brand value. Serving as the primary cross-functional contact for product and marketing initiatives, this role integrates market insight, pricing and incentive strategy, production mix planning, and launch execution to ensure competitive positioning and sustained business results.
A Day in the Life:
Supports the senior planner with monthly sales, share, and profitability performance for the assigned nameplate, developing clear, data-driven analyses and recommendations for senior leadership. Leads the development and execution of overall model strategy to support sales, margin, and brand objectives across the full vehicle lifecycle while ensuring strong competitive positioning within the segment.
Supports the senior planner with defining market positioning, target customer profiles, and core consumer benefits, ensuring consistent alignment across advertising, marketing communications, merchandising, and sales enablement. Develops and manages pricing strategy, incentive plans, trim mix optimization, and accessory penetration to maximize net revenue and ROI, while closely monitoring incentive discipline and market response.
Supports the senior planner with managing vehicle flow planning, including production volume, model and trim mix, dealer inventory levels, and turnover metrics, while overseeing retail and fleet channel balance to protect brand equity and profitability. Leads development and maintenance of comprehensive lifecycle financial analysis integrating carflow plans, incentives, advertising, competitive actions, product changes, and market trends.
Supports the senior planner and agency partners to plan and execute new model years, major product updates, and launch activities, ensuring clarity of content, timing, and execution. Partners closely with Product Planning and PMO to support package strategy, content definition, pricing walks, and positioning updates based on customer and competitive insights.
Supports the senior planner that coordinates with Sales Operations, Marketing Communications, Training, and Public Relations to ensure consistent execution across all channels. Prepares and delivers executive-level presentations for business reviews, launch readiness, and media events, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and legal integrity of consumer-facing materials.
Who We're Looking For:
Strong knowledge of automotive product marketing, pricing, incentives, and vehicle lifecycle management, with a solid understanding of competitive positioning and customer behavior within the assigned segment. Proven analytical capability to manage complex sales, pricing, inventory, and profitability data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across Product Planning, Sales Operations, Marketing Communications, PMO, and agency partners. Strong presentation and project management skills, with high attention to detail and accountability for accuracy and compliance.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with automotive data systems and strong technical product knowledge strongly preferred.
3-5 years of experience reviewing and executing elements of national marketing plans varying in scope and complexity. Additional experience in pricing, market research, vehicle operations, product planning, PMO, or brand management is highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
