Job Title: CMM Programmer – Aerospace Manufacturing

Location: Auburn, New York

Position Overview:
The CMM Programmer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to inspect complex aerospace components. This role requires a strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize CMM programs using industry-standard software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements
  • Analyze inspection data and generate detailed reports
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain calibration and ensure proper functioning of inspection equipment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of CMM programming experience, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Proficiency with CMM software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Experience with CAD models and metrology tools
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with multi-axis or complex geometries
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-precision environment
