CMM Programmer

The Quality Technician provides real time quality information, generates and communicates all required system documentation for training of associates or other technicians. The Quality Technician may be required to perform in one or all Technician staffed elements across all shifts as needed (Metrology). Some elements require senior level specific technical skills ex; Print interpretation, advanced CMM programming, Capital Equipment qualification and release, or other advanced key skill applications. Performs necessary quality information equipment (gauging) programming, training, equipment capability testing, product testing, inspection and standards preparation. Analyzes components and assemblies through life cycle (purchased, manufactured, assembled, tested, including but not limited to field return investigation). Communicates quality issues & needs to engineering. Facilitates general production floor containment and verifies corrections accordingly.

Responsibilities:

• Trouble Shoot and repair test equipment.
• Supports Development of testing methods to support customer needs.
• Test Equipment design input and procurement.
• Qualify and Runoff of new Equipment.
• Develop associated work instructions.
• Work in a team environment as a team player across all shifts.
• Facilitate associates in process improvement activities (Kaizen Events)
• Responsible for training manufacturing associates in product testing.
• Create, maintain and promote all quality systems and procedures in compliance to IATF standards.
• Drive focus on safety as an integral part of the team’s day-to-day awareness and activities
• Support set-up and changeover equipment and participate in problem solving events as needed.
• Provide input on capital equipment process.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized workplace/environment with 5S principles-Training and Audit
• Identify and utilize all resources required to meet department objectives by coordinating with support departments.
• Develop testing and measurement methods to support customer needs.
• Perform entry level Quality Engineering support.
• Execute necessary planning for component / assembly including Quality Information Equipment preparations for Gage runoffs, machine runoffs, in-house machine qualification, external supplier support, as well as pre and full production special studies.
• Coordinate full dimensional layouts for heat study and PPAP.
• Audit Gage systems to assure conformance to requirements. MSA Studies including R&R's Linearity, Biases, and Stability.
• Familiar with ISO standards with significant understanding of ISO2768 1 and 2 Tolerancing, ISO1101 GPS, ISO13715 Edge and ISO1302 Surface Texture as well as Y14.5.

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma and

At least 7 years of soft and hard metal manufacturing support experience or

At least 3 years of soft and hard metallurgical support experience or

At least 3 years of Controlled environment / sub-micron metrology laboratory technical experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates degree or equivalent technical qualification preferred. BS degree a plus.
• Certifications are a plus (CQT, CQE, QS Auditor, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels of organization.
• Demonstrated work schedule flexibility.
• Demonstrated capability in maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment. (Mechanical abilities maintaining other manufacturing equipment could suffice.)
• Experience with External Quality Systems with relation to Calibration and NIST traceability Standards.
• Demonstrated user of CMM - (preferably Zeiss employing Navigator / Calypso).
• Able to function effectively as a team player in a Team Oriented environment.
