The CMM Programmer is responsible for programming, proving out and supporting coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspections on critical aerospace components in accordance with customer and internal specifications. This role will independently execute CMM programs to communicated NPI and daily production milestones. Programming capability (MCOSMOS) is required for this role. Programming capability (Calypso and/or Modus) is highly desirable. The programmer will interface closely with quality, engineering, production, and manufacturing support teams to ensure timely inspection flow and accurate data collection.

  • The CMM Programmer is responsible for generating and proving out CMM programs for Mitutoyo, Zeiss, and Metris CMMs to perform dimensional inspections on aerospace components. This includes
  • Set up and prove out created or modified programs using provided fixtures, models, and work instructions.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Review and interpret CMM results, identify potential nonconformances, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain and organize CMM programs and related documentation, as well as troubleshoot inspection issues and supporting root cause analysis efforts for dimensional discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing personnel to resolve measurement-related challenges and improve process flow.
  • May also train other inspection personnel on CMM operation and part setup specific to the programs the Programmer develops, edits, and proves out.
  • Validation activities and calibration checks must be performed to ensure CMM accuracy and reliability.
