CMM Programmer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our Quality team in a fast-paced precision machining environment. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing CMM programs, supporting inspection operations, and ensuring product quality meets customer and industry requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PC-DMIS, GD&T, and complex inspection methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and validate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspections, including part fixturing, installation, and orientation.
• Develop and optimize CMM inspection methodologies for prototype and production components.
• Create inspection programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve CMM programming issues, errors, and equipment malfunctions.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration verification of CMM equipment.
• Train and support inspectors on proper CMM operation and best inspection practices.
• Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure product conformity and successful manufacturing introductions.
• Maintain inspection documentation and support quality system requirements.
• Stay current with advancements in metrology technology, inspection techniques, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of CMM programming experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with PC-DMIS programming and CMM operation.
• Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
• Experience with metrology, complex inspection techniques, and dimensional analysis.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer specifications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to train and mentor team members.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor"s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
• Experience supporting prototype and new product introduction programs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Woburn, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
