    Description

    SUMMARY: The CMM Technician is responsible for performing dimensional inspections of production and prototype parts using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment. Responsibilities also include operating and programming CMM equipment, verifying product conformance to engineering drawings and customer specifications, documenting inspection results, and supporting production and quality activities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

     

    • Perform dimensional inspections of production parts, first article samples, and engineering samples using CMM equipment.
    • Program, operate, and troubleshoot CMM equipment as required.
    • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
    • Verify that parts conform to dimensional and quality requirements.
    • Document inspection results and maintain accurate inspection records.
    • Identify and communicate nonconforming product to Quality, Engineering, and Production personnel.
    • Support PPAP submissions, engineering sample runs, and new product launches.
    • Perform routine calibration and verification of measuring equipment as required.
    • Assist with gauge studies, measurement system analysis (MSA), and capability studies.
    • Work with Production and Engineering to resolve dimensional quality concerns.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Quality Lab and inspection equipment.
    • Actively participates in JVIS's Health, Safety and Environmental activities to support a safe work environment.
    • Maintains an acceptable attendance record to ensure timely work completion.
    • Must have experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and precision measuring equipment.
    • Must have knowledge of Quality Systems as relates to this job as described in the Quality System Manual and associated documents.
    • Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
