The position uses CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and other gages to perform and document visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of steel fabricated components, ensuring quality of all products.
1st shift works from 6 m. to 4 p.m. and must be open to working overtime.
Competitive starting pay of $22 to $28 per hour, corresponding with experience
Job Summary
lnspect steel fabricated components using a CMM, height gages, micrometers, calipers, thread gages and other measuring instruments
Document all measurements accurately and completely
Inspect incoming material from outside vendors against prints and document
Tag parts with assigned disposition (accepted, rejected or rework)
Communicate material rejection issues and non-conforming concerns with management
Maintain and inspect measuring devices
Organize workload, prioritizing production sign--on
Comply with all safety practices and Company policies
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preferred experience using CMM (preferably FARO and/or Romer arm) and measurement tools including calipers, micrometers and height gages
Experience with CNC Mill operation, programming experience and/or understanding of X,Y,Z coordinates helpful or also considered
Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Must have strong math and metric skills
Engineering design or CAD/Solidworks skills desired; classroom experience is acceptable
Must be dependable and able to pass background check
