CMS Operator

The CMS Operator will be required to provide production support across ALL areas of the CPS (Ceramic Powders & Shapes) operation (TiB2, Primary, Powder Firing, Hot Press, Crush/Mill/Screen, etc.) as necessary and directed by the supervisor/Operations Manager. The CMS Operator is expected to aid the CMS Supervisor and operators as instructed.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Job Task Analysis procedures to ensure Safety of Environment and Quality of Product
  • Perform routine powder production operations as directed, including but not limited to the operation of production equipment, in process/final product preparation and packaging, material transportation, and process data entry across all areas of CPS (TiB2, Primary, Powder Firing, Hot Press, Crush/Mill/Screen, etc.)
  • Ensure that all housekeeping and 5S duties are completed.
  • Provide production support across all areas of the CPS (Ceramic Powders & Shapes) operation, including TiB2, Primary, Powder Firing, Hot Press, and Crush Mill Screen
  •  Follow direction from the Supervisor and/or Operations Manager to support operational needs

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma 
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, overtime, shutdowns, and flexible scheduling (Continuous Shift, as needed) 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or completion of Apprenticeship Program 
  • Previous experience using maintenance management systems such as SAP 
  • Worked in an industrial environment 
  • Working knowledge of industrial plant power distribution equipment: transformers, load interrupting switches, switchgear, circuit breakers, trip relays 
  • Strong communication skills using multiple forms such as email and verbal
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with production personnel 
  • Self-motivated and driven to accomplish daily tasks and responsibilities 

Physical Requirements:   

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods    
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25–50 lbs, periodically.   
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently   
  • Ability to use hands repetitively for grasping, handling, and manipulating parts or tools   
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and dust   
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes   
  • Ability to wear Respirator and SCBA  
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or platforms as needed   
  • Ability to visually inspect parts and equipment, including close-up work and reading gauges/screens   
  • Ability to perspective color  
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, signals, and verbal instructions   
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain physical stamina   
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and equipment   
  • Ability to maintain balance and coordination while working around equipment
