Job Description

We are seeking a Lab Technician to support materials testing and reporting for construction and infrastructure projects in Avenel, NJ. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality and safety of materials used in the built environment.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a team to perform testing, document results, and maintain lab readiness—helping deliver accurate data that informs critical project decisions.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory and occasional field testing of soils, concrete, and construction materials
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely technical reports for project teams
• Follow standard testing procedures and maintain strong attention to detail
• Support lab operations, including equipment upkeep and facility organization
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to meet project deadlines
• Uphold safety standards and contribute to a culture of quality and accountability

You’ll thrive here if you have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a materials testing or construction laboratory environment
• Willingness and ability to learn new testing methods and procedures
• Strong reliability and commitment to doing quality work
• Preferred (but not required): ACI, ICC, or NICET certifications

• Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 hourly rate
  The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
