Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)  – Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC, ICU, CC)

Huntsville, AL 

 

Full Time - Day or Night Shift Available 

12 Hour Shifts

The Certified Nurse Assistant works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Certified Nurse Assistant include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards.  The Certified Nurse Assistant must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

 

 

• Provides basic nursing care to patients within the Certified Nurse Assistant’s scope of practice that includes actions that meet psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
• Performs basic patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
• Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care to patient; answers questions within scope of practice.
• Demonstrates and ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful situations.
• Responds to patients in emergency or physically distressful situations.
• Documentation meets current standards and policies.
• Assumes accountability for appropriate utilization of resources.

Performs other duties as assigned, within the Certified Nurse Assistant’s scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Prior hospital experience required

High School Diploma, GED or CNA certification is required 

BLS certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
