POSITION SUMMARY Reports To: Unit Manager Summary: Employee is primarily responsible for assisting RNs, LPNs, and physicians with care of the patients. The employee should be able to think and react quickly in critical situations. The employee performs the duties assigned using methods and procedures included in their certification curriculum along with following policies and procedures established by the hospitals administrative staff. The patient population includes patients from infancy to geriatrics who present with either medical or post-surgical problems. The Nursing Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients in their assigned unit. Work Schedule: Must be able to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays. Must have the ability to float to other nursing units. SKILLS ABILITIES Education High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Experience Six months to one year related experience Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility. Certificates Licenses Completion of a CNA program and BLS required. Other Requirements Ability to multi-task.This position requires frequent standing and walking and frequent use of hands and fingers. Must be able to reach above shoulder occasionally, squat or kneel occasionally, and lifting or moving more than 50 pounds.
