Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care
Job Summary
Provides direct personal care and activities of daily living support to residents in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility and nutrition while promoting dignity, independence and safety. Observes and reports changes in resident condition and documents care provided.
Education & Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent: Required
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting: Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility.
• Assist with meal service, feeding and hydration, and document intake and output as required.
• Take and record vital signs, weights and other measurements as directed by the licensed nurse.
• Observe residents for changes in physical or behavioral condition and report findings promptly to the charge nurse.
• Use proper transfer, lifting and positioning techniques to maintain resident and staff safety.
• Document care provided in the resident record and follow infection control and safety policies.
