Job description

Duties:

- Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing direct patient care.- Perform basic nursing procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.- Help patients with mobility and transfers.- Collect specimens for laboratory testing.- Monitor patients' condition and report any changes to the nursing staff.- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.- Follow proper aseptic technique to prevent infection transmission.- Provide catheter care as needed.

Experience:

- Previous experience as a nursing assistant or similar role is preferred but not required.- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy is beneficial.- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.

Skills:

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.- Proficient in taking accurate vital signs and recording them correctly.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a nursing assistant training program is preferred.- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) is highly desirable but not always required, depending on state regulations.- Must have a valid CPR certification.
