Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract (Travel)
  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 4x12 Variable or 3x12 Variable (traveler's choice). Shifts will be either Days or Nights (dependent on facility needs at time of start date). Night: 19:00 7:30 / Day: 7:00 19:30. Caregivers are not asked to rotate between night/day shifts (occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs).
  • Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks. Traveler can be called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2 weeks.
  • Travel Requirements: Previous travel experience required. Local candidates not accepted candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Long Term Care (LTC) travel CNA/Nurse Assistant assignment located at a Long Term Care Facility in Seward, AK. The facility has 40 total staffed beds with a 1:20 patient ratio. Previous travel experience is required, and first-time travelers are not accepted. The clinician will be expected to float within scope to meet facility needs. A vehicle will be arranged by the facility for the traveler's use during the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting with a 1:20 patient ratio.
  • Float within scope to meet facility needs as required.
  • Obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a requirement of working in a LTC facility (certification is obtained during orientation on-site at the facility does not need to be completed prior to start date; there is a one-time fee for this certification).
  • Operate a facility-arranged vehicle solely for use around town and within a 30-mile radius of the facility; vehicle must not be taken off-road or outside the 30-mile radius.
  • Return the vehicle during any time off during the contract; a new vehicle will be issued upon return.
  • Return the vehicle cleaned and with a full tank of gas at the end of the assignment.
  • Comply with all facility and contract requirements, including RTO restrictions and holiday availability expectations.

Required Skills

  • Traveler's personal vehicle insurance policy must include rental car insurance to cover accidents/damages to a rental car

  • AK CNA license required (pending license accepted, but candidate must have already submitted the Alaska CNA license application in order to apply; candidate must provide documentation of license application including: application submittal, application fee paid, fingerprints submitted, educational verification submitted, and license verification submitted)
  • If AK CNA license is pending, candidate must also submit: a valid CNA license in another state AND verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate, transcript, etc.)

Important Notes

  • Previous travel experience is required. First-time travelers are not accepted.
  • AK CNA license may be pending, but candidate must have already submitted the Alaska CNA license application prior to applying. If application has not been submitted, redirect the candidate. Candidate must provide documentation including: application submittal, application fee paid, fingerprints submitted, educational verification submitted, and license verification submitted. If pending, candidate must also provide a valid CNA license in another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program.
  • RTO Restrictions: No more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered for a 26-week contract. Preference is for travelers to be willing/able to work any holidays. All RTO must be submitted with the initial submittal. RTO will not be considered if requested after an offer or after signing the contract.
  • Alaska Food Worker Certification is required for all caregivers in LTC facilities. Certification is obtained during orientation on-site. Candidates do not need to complete this prior to their start date. There is a one-time fee for this certification.
  • Local candidates not accepted. Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
  • Vehicle Information: The facility will arrange a vehicle for the traveler's use during the assignment. The vehicle will be available no earlier than 72 hours before the contract begins and no longer than 24 hours after the contract ends. Only the traveler is authorized to operate the vehicle. Traveler must provide a copy of a valid driver's license and proof of insurance prior to operating the vehicle. The traveler's personal vehicle insurance policy must include rental car insurance to cover any accidents/damages to a rental car. Vehicles are provided solely for use around town and must not be taken off-road or outside a 30-mile radius from the facility. If the traveler has time off during the contract, the vehicle must be turned in and a new vehicle will be issued upon return. Tire chains are available at an additional cost billed to the traveler. The vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas.
