    Job Description

    Department Overview:

    10S Pediatric Hematology/Oncology uses a multidisciplinary and family centered care approach in the provision of patient care. Individuals may be admitted for the following services: Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, post op care of surgical oncology, supportive care related to oncology treatments and diseases, and stem cell transplantation (autologous, allogeneic, matched unrelated donor, peripheral stem cell or cord blood).

     

    Multidisciplinary team may include some or all of the following services: physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapists, pediatric pain team, bridges team, dieticians, case manager, social workers, chaplains, child life specialists, and school teachers. The members of the team for each patient/family are determined by the needs of the patient/family and medical condition. Our facility provides private Hepa filtered, positive pressure rooms, playrooms, family lounge, school classroom, patient/family computers in rooms.  A meditation room is located in the main hallway just outside the unit.

    Function/Duties of Position:
    • Assist with the admitting and discharge
    • Obtain accurate vital signs and weight
    • Complete all unit specific CNA documentation in the patient’s medical record related to: admissions, daily care, vital signs, weight, intake and output, discharge, etc.
    • Assist the patient with any and all basic hygiene, lifting, transport, dietary support, and other personal needs and medical necessities
    • Support patient and family centered care
    • Report potential compliance problems as outlined in the Code of Conduct
    • Model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance, and personal integrity
    • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

     

    Available Openings

    • 1.0 FTE - set schedule of Monday and Thursday 1100-2300, Friday 0700-1500, Sunday 1500-2300
    • 1.0 FTE - set schedule of Wednesday 1100-2300, Friday and Saturday 0700-1500, Sunday 0700-1900
    • 0.9 FTE - set schedule of Monday, Thursday, Saturday 0700-1930
    • 0.9 FTE - set schedule of Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 1100-2300
    • 0.8 FTE - set schedule of Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 1500-2300 and Sunday 0700-1500
    Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Oregon CNA1 Certification at time of hire
    • BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation.
