Responsibilities


We are currently seeking dedicated and caring CNA to join our team in our sub-acute rehabilitation unit . As a CNA , you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support to individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses and contribute to a positive and healing environment for our patients.


+ Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and ambulation.

+ Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as directed.

+ Observe patients for changes in condition and report any concerns to the nursing staff immediately.

+ Assist with a range of motion exercises and other therapeutic activities as directed.

+ Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.


Qualifications


+ Six (6) months of recent hospital or long-term care facility experience as a CNA

+ High school education

+ Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program

+ Nurse Assistant Certification (CT NA)

+ CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)


Special Skills:


+ Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing clearly, concisely and accurately.

+ Ability to utilize and learn new computer programs for documentation

+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships

+ Operate IVAC thermometer vital sign check machine blood pressure cuff.

+ Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures

+ Ability to educate family members regarding appropriate activities listed below as indicated by ability of resident and willingness of family

+ Ability to perform care functions that may include but not necessarily be limited to:

+ Ambulation

+ Eating assistance

+ ADLs

+ ROM (AROM & PROM)

+ Bowel and Bladder Training

+ Splint/Brace/Prosthesis placement/care


This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
