A CNC and Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures manufacturing efficiency by repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex CNC machinery (mills, lathes, etc.) and general plant equipment, requiring strong mechanical, electrical (PLC/HMI), hydraulic, and pneumatic skills, plus performing preventative maintenance (PM), reading manuals, and following strict safety protocols like LOTO, while also handling basic building/utility upkeep to minimize downtime and support production goals. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Machine Maintenance:

    • Perform PMs on 3 and 4-axis mills as well as lathes.

    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical (PLCs, servos, HMIs), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

    • Diagnose issues using manuals, drawings, and diagnostic tools (calipers, meters).

    • Replace/repair parts like pumps, valves, ballscrews, and sensors.

  • Facilities Maintenance:

    • Conduct general building upkeep, equipment, and utility maintenance.

    • Perform or schedule regular building activities for equipment like water lines, compressors, HVAC, doors, and overhead cranes etc.

    • Capable of some general installations such as overhead cranes, electrical cabinets, and machine decking to name a few.

  • Preventative Maintenance:

    • Execute scheduled PM plans for both machines and facilities.

    • Implement and suggest improvements to PM programs.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Strictly follow LOTO, OSHA, and company safety procedures.

    • Maintain clean, orderly work areas and proper tool/parts storage.

  • Communication & Documentation:

    • Track work orders, report issues, and provide status updates.

    • Communicate effectively with management, production, and vendors. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical: Mechanical aptitude, electrical/electronic troubleshooting, PLC/HMI knowledge, hydraulics/pneumatics, reading technical drawings.

  • Tools: Proficient with hand/power tools, precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers).

  • Soft Skills: Problem-solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, good communication.

  • Experience: Typically, 3+ years in CNC maintenance or similar environment. 

 

1st shift: 7:00 am-3:30 pm
