Salary Range:
$60k - $88k Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits

An established, high-precision manufacturing firm in the Akron, Ohio area is hiring a skilled CNC Applications Engineer. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in CNC programming (Mastercam), machining strategies, and tooling optimization for complex mill and lathe operations. 

Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and refine machining strategies to reduce cycle times, minimize tooling costs, and maintain superior part quality.
  • Program complex multi-axis toolpaths using Mastercam for mill and lathe operations. Select cost-effective cutting tools, fixtures, and materials.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with machine setups, tool wear/breakage, and G-code errors directly on the production floor.
  • Create setup sheets, standardized tool lists, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guide and train machinists.
  • Introduce and support advanced   measuring technologies within the Quality Control (QC) department; maintain compliance with ISO machining standards.
  • Continuously master related manufacturing software and modern inspection/measurement instruments.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • 3+ years of dedicated CNC programming and machining experience (Extrusion and custom manufacturing experience strongly preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Mastercam, CAD software (preferable SolidWorks), and manual G-code/M-code.
  • Exceptional ability to interpret complex technical   drawings, GD&T, and engineering blueprints.
  • High attention to detail, quality-first mindset, and strong familiarity with ISO standards.
  • Self-directed, highly organized problem solver with  excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
