Morning: Turn blueprints into motion
Study engineering drawings and apply GD&T to plan accurate machining strategies.
Build CAM toolpaths and generate clean, efficient G-code for CNC mills (3–4 axis VMC).
Coordinate with engineers to dial in feeds, speeds, and workholding for first runs.
Midday: Keep production moving
Perform CNC setups and changeovers to transition between production runs smoothly.
Troubleshoot tooling or machine issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Jump in on manual machining when needed to support throughput.
Afternoon: Verify and improve
Validate parts using precision measurement and hand metrology tools to confirm specs.
Refine programs and setups based on inspection feedback.
Maintain an orderly, safe work area and follow all shop safety protocols.
