CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Programmer–Machinist

Shape precision parts, start to finish

At an industry-leading machine parts supplier, your day begins around 7:00am in the Elmwood Park area of Chicago. You review prints, set up a horizontal boring mill, program toolpaths in Mastercam, fine-tune G- and M-code, run first articles, verify results with precision gauges, and transition into steady production. When something doesn’t cut true, you troubleshoot, realign, and get the job back on track. By day’s end, you’ve completed accurate parts and clean changeovers—ready for tomorrow’s run.

Role snapshot

• Own the set-up, operation, and programming of CNC Horizontal Boring Mills
• Translate blueprints into efficient Mastercam toolpaths and validated G/M-code
• Drive first-article inspections and dial in offsets for repeatable quality
• Execute quick, reliable changeovers for production runs
• Troubleshoot issues and maintain machine geometry and alignment

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:30pm

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience
• Experience with horizontal mills
• Mastercam programming experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to use precision measuring tools
