What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment and working from engineering drawings, work orders, travelers, and production documentation.
Experience operating Mitsubishi laser systems is highly preferred. Candidates with experience on Mitsubishi ML2030D, Mitsubishi ML3015LVP, Mitsubishi ML3015, Mitsubishi ML3015NX, Mitsubishi GX-F Advanced, or similar Mitsubishi laser equipment are strongly encouraged to apply.
Aerospace manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, but we will also consider candidates with strong laser operating experience from precision sheet metal, fabrication, metal manufacturing, or similar industries.
This role is a great fit for a Fiber Laser Operator, Laser Machine Operator, CNC Laser Operator, Sheet Metal Laser Operator, Precision Manufacturing Operator, Fabrication Operator, or experienced Manufacturing Technician looking to join a growing aerospace manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Set up and operate fiber laser and/or CO2 laser cutting equipment
· Load, unload, and process sheet metal materials according to production schedules
· Verify correct material type, thickness, and job documentation before processing
· Perform nozzle changes, focus adjustments, gas selection, and cutting condition setup as required
· Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and manufacturing documentation
· Perform in-process inspections using calipers, tape measures, and other inspection equipment
· Verify parts meet dimensional and visual quality requirements
· Complete production documentation, travelers, and traceability records accurately
· Maintain material identification and part traceability throughout the manufacturing process
· Safely operate overhead cranes, vacuum lifting devices, forklifts, and material handling equipment as required
· Support production flow by staging material and moving completed work to downstream operations
· Maintain equipment and perform routine operator-level preventive maintenance
· Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
· Support AS9100 quality requirements, inspection procedures, documentation requirements, and continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years of laser operating experience in a manufacturing environment
· Experience operating fiber laser and/or CO2 laser cutting equipment
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings
· Experience performing machine setup, nozzle changes, focus adjustments, and gas selection
· Ability to inspect parts using basic measuring equipment
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment
· Ability to obtain company forklift certification
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance when required
· Ability to work overtime as needed to support production requirements
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience operating Mitsubishi fiber laser or CO2 laser equipment strongly preferred
· Experience with automated pallet-changing laser systems
· Aerospace manufacturing experience
· Experience working in an AS9100D manufacturing environment
· Familiarity with ERP/MRP production systems
· Sheet metal fabrication experience
· Knowledge of material traceability and aerospace documentation requirements
· Forklift certification
· ITAR-regulated manufacturing experience
ITAR Requirements
Due to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements applicable to many of our aerospace and defense programs, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must be able to provide documentation verifying employment eligibility.
Compensation
$28–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
