This individual interfaces with production management, and engineering teams to establish efficient manufacturing processes, to improve upon existing processes, and to create a foundation for operational success on the manufacturing floor. The programmer is required to have extensive knowledge of modern manufacturing principles, and understanding of materials (primarily steels and aluminums) and their cutting properties, and the ability to work in both a digital and practical environment with both management and supporting machine setup operators.

    • Work with the Senior programmer in the design and improvement of CNC programs for machining operations to minimize costs and time, deliberately seeking the most efficient processes, to meet manufacturing schedules and demand.
    • Work with an established data system to regulate the storage and cataloging of programs so that they are safely stored (uncorrupted) and discoverable for operators to quickly find the latest approved/proven programs for the parts that they are running. Additionally, work with existing cutting tool storage systems to make sure the tooling needed is available.
    • Ensure that programs and processes function properly to allow for smooth efficient production runs, while collaborating with the quality, production, and engineering departments to increase production success and production through.
    • Support the lathe department by guiding and helping the operators and machinists on the shop floor, providing them with the proper programming and tooling knowledge to help them be independent problem solvers.
