Position Overview

We are seeking CNC Lathe Operators to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Cleveland, OH.

This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment to manufacture parts according to work orders, drawings, and customer specifications. Operators will load parts, cycle machines, monitor equipment performance, inspect finished products, identify worn or damaged cutting tools, and perform basic finishing work.

Candidates with 6+ months of CNC machine experience are strongly preferred, including experience with either CNC lathes or CNC mills. However, candidates with a strong manufacturing background, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to learn CNC equipment may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture parts according to work orders and drawings.
• Load and unload parts from CNC equipment.
• Cycle machines and monitor equipment during production runs.
• Identify machine malfunctions and worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet customer specifications.
• Learn and perform basic CNC machine and robotic programming as required.
• Use hand tools to deburr, de-gate, polish, and finish manufactured parts.
• Package completed production according to established procedures.
• Follow routers and properly document completed operations.
• Run production lots and communicate production status with coworkers.
• Produce quality parts while minimizing scrap.
• Complete required production paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Escalate equipment, production, or quality issues when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S principles.
• Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives involving quality, output, cost, and delivery.
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing requirements.

The core responsibilities specifically include CNC setup and operation, loading and cycling machines, identifying cutting-tool problems, deburring and polishing parts, packaging production, and following router steps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience required.
• 6+ months of CNC machine operating experience preferred, including CNC lathes or mills.
• Candidates with strong manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude may be considered without direct CNC experience.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Basic/intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to learn CNC and robotic programming.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, drawings, and written instructions.
• Ability to measure manufactured parts accurately.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in above-ambient temperatures.
