Description
Responsibilities:
The position requires monitoring, set-up, and operating CNC turning machines to cutsteel for the round tool cutting industry. Operators must be capable of programming and setting up the machines without assistance.
Daily Functions:
- Download programs and perform set-ups per print on existing tools
- Write machine programs for new tools using Fanuc control
- Keep multiple machines running during work shift unassisted
- Perform basic machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance and machine cleaning
- Upon completion, perform quality part checks to print
- Make normal machine program adjustments
- Change and adjust tooling as required
- Achieve standard daily production rates
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills and Requirements:
- 5-10 years of machine experience preferred (Fanuc control)
- Able to read and understand blue prints
- Able to use measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
- Understand machining properties of different materials
- Effective communication skills
- Prolonged standing and bending
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
