The CNC Lathe Operator / Setup Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC Lathes. Must be proficient in converting metrics to standard and using calipers and micrometers. Must have a strong understanding of Quality. Experience with Haas controls would be considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Setup
Set up and operate Haas CNC Lathes to produce high-precision components.
Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently.
Converting metric to standard is a must as our blueprints are metric but machines are programed and ran in US standard.
Programming
Develop and optimize CNC and programs using G codes and/or CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam).
Adjust cutting parameters and offsets based on material type and thickness to ensure quality and minimize waste.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure that tooling meets safety and performance standards.
Quality Assurance
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Ensure all components meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of machine settings, programs, and maintenance activities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on process enhancements.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years of experience operating and set up CNC Lathes.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.
Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, tolerances, and materials.
Familiarity with Haas controls is a plus.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing floor environments with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. (Steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs)
