Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer to join its growing manufacturing team in Troy, Michigan. This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist who enjoys programming, setup, troubleshooting, and producing complex precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.If you have experience programming CNC lathes, working with Mastercam, and machining tight-tolerance aerospace or automotive components, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do
Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and G-Code.
Perform complete machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and process adjustments.
Operate CNC lathes to manufacture high-precision components.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
Select tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies to maximize quality and efficiency.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment including:
Calipers
Micrometers
Bore gauges
Height gauges
Pin gauges
Surface finish equipment
Optical comparator
Verify parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Support process improvements that reduce cycle times, improve tooling performance, and minimize scrap.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following ISO 9001, AS9100, OSHA, and ITAR requirements.
What We're Looking For
High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical degree or formal machining training preferred.
5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong CNC programming experience using Mastercam.
Experience with Haas, Okuma, Samsung, or similar CNC lathes.
Ability to independently perform complete machine setups.
Strong understanding of G-Code programming.
Experience reading blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience machining tight-tolerance aerospace or automotive components is highly preferred.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
