As a Lathe Machinist, you will be working with Okuma Lathes and manufacturing equipment as needed and per blueprint or job order specifications. You will also set up, monitor, repair, and maintain your equipment as needed, assist other machinists with larger tasks, and maintain a safe work environment. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, previous experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints or job orders and make adjustments to equipment as needed, often with precision toolsCreate and write CNC Lathe programs from blueprintsBe responsible for the operation of multiple pieces and types of equipmentUnderstand and apply optimal work-holding techniquesCheck final products for accuracy, and make adjustments to machines as needed to ensure the best final productConduct basic maintenance and repairs on equipment in your careMust be able to set tooling and apply offsetsMust maintain a clean and organized work areaOther duties as assigned/requiredQualifications5+ years of experience as a machinist or in a manufacturing environment3+ years of experienceHave a clear understanding of CNC G & M codesAbility to program, set up, operate, and run CNC Lathe MachinesThe ability to read blueprints or job orders and make minor adjustments as needed to fulfill requirementsPrevious experience programming in MastercamThe ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurementsExcellent attention to detail, good verbal communication skills, and ability to use good judgmentStrong analytical skills
