JOB SUMMARYOur client is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer for a direct hire opportunity in Memphis, Michigan. We are actively recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled CNC professional with strong programming, setup, and machining experience, particularly with Swiss lathes and sliding head lathes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands on CNC programming experience and the ability to take jobs from programming and setup through prove out and production. This position requires strong knowledge of tooling, G code, CAM software, tight tolerance machining, and process optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Program and operate CNC Swiss lathes and sliding head lathes
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software including Partmaker, Fusion 360, Mastercam, ESPRIT, or similar software
- Set up tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, and machine parameters
- Prove out new jobs from initial setup through production
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and GD&T requirements
- Determine proper tooling, speeds, feeds, offsets, and machining sequences
- Perform G code edits and program adjustments at the machine as needed
- Optimize cycle times, surface finishes, tool life, and overall machining efficiency
- Machine precision components while maintaining tight tolerances
- Work with materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other metals
- Troubleshoot CNC programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and CMM equipment to verify dimensional accuracy
- Perform routine machine and tooling maintenance as required
- Work closely with engineering to improve manufacturing processes, part design, quality, and production efficiency
- Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360 to review, design, or modify parts as needed
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Assist and mentor other team members on CNC machining and programming best practices as needed
- Maintain accurate CNC programs and manufacturing documentation
- Follow established safety procedures, quality requirements, and company policies
QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience preferred
- Strong experience programming and operating CNC lathes
- Experience with Swiss lathes or sliding head lathes strongly prefer
