CNC Lathe Setup Programmer — Turning

Key responsibilities

• Operate engine and large CNC lathes to machine castings, forgings, plates, bars, and custom components.
• Hold tight tolerances on large parts through disciplined setups and in‑process checks.
• Write and edit programs at the control to improve accuracy, repeatability, and throughput.
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators; document conformance to quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on machining experience or equivalent technical training.
• 3–5 years setting up both CNC and manual lathes.
• Programming experience preferred.
• Demonstrated performance in fast-paced, production environments without sacrificing quality.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
