This role involves operating CNC lathes and 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision parts according to shop prints and work orders.
- Prepare machines by requisitioning tooling, programming, and setting reference points for dry runs.
- Check fluid levels, grease fittings, and transmission before operation.
- Produce and verify first pieces with approval or guidance, ensuring critical dimensions are met.
- Follow quality procedures to inspect production pieces.
Requirements include the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively in English, and perform basic math for fabrication calculations.
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating CNC lathes and milling machines in heavy manufacturing.
- Intermediate proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of reading drawings, geometric tolerances, and tooling components.
