- First Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Second Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
General Summary
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications. This role supports production efficiency and quality through accurate machining, inspection, and documentation. Ideal candidates are experienced with CNC milling or turning operations and demonstrate strong problem-solving, quality-checking, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Machining & Operation
Read and follow routers, blueprints, and work instructions to plan and complete assigned work.
Operate one or more types of CNC equipment, including mills or lathes.
Load and unload parts according to defined cycle times and part specifications.
Select proper machine settings and make offsets or adjustments as needed.
Perform tool changes based on wear or part-specific requirements.
Quality
Execute inspection plans and utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
Inspect in-process and finished parts to ensure conformance to quality and customer specifications.
Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the shop leader.
Complete required documentation accurately, including travelers and inspection logs.
Safety & Workplace Organization
Adhere to all company safety policies and use appropriate PPE.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area throughout the shift.
Perform basic equipment maintenance and communicate any issues.
Communicate open tasks and issues during shift changes.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2+ years’ operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routers, and work instructions.
Proficiency with standard measurement tools and inspection equipment.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with G/M code programs.
Preferred
Experience with CNC Horizontal/Vertical milling and multi-axis lathes
Prior experience in a precision machine shop environment.
Strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
Physical Requirements
