CNC Machine Repair Technician II
Location: Lafayette, IN Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire Schedule: 2nd Shift | 1:00 PM 9:30 PM (hours may vary based on business needs)
TempExperts is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Repair Technician II for a 2nd shift opportunity with an established industrial facility in Lafayette, IN. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing CNC machine tools and industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and experience working in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CNC machine tools and industrial equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, process, and production-related equipment issues.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) schedule and accurately document completed work.
Inspect equipment, identify potential safety risks, and recommend corrective actions to prevent equipment failures.
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, motors, motor controls, and related equipment.
Operate diagnostic equipment, testing devices, hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs.
Communicate maintenance findings and completed work clearly with supervisors and internal customers.
Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Perform general facility maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience maintaining industrial equipment, machinery, or facility systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience troubleshooting CNC machine tools in a manufacturing environment.
Valid driver's license.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
U.S. Citizenship required to obtain required facility credentials.
Ability to obtain site security clearance or facility access credentials.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as needed.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to distinguish wire colors when performing electrical work.
Wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Industrial Electrical Technology or a related technical field.
Experience working safely with 480V three-phase electrical systems.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems.
Experience using PC-based maintenance and work order systems.
