We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead the daily operations of a high-precision machining department within a global manufacturing company. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background in CNC machining, programming, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise machine shop operations, including supervisors, CNC programmers, machinists, technicians, and operators.
Plan and prioritize production schedules to meet quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
Oversee CNC machining processes involving 3-axis and 5-axis equipment.
Support and collaborate with CNC programmers to ensure efficient programming and machining strategies.
Monitor production quality and ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of machine shop equipment.
Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Develop and mentor team members while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a CNC machine shop or precision machining environment.
Strong experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
Experience with Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
Knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software.
Hands-on experience programming and operating Haas and Hurco CNC machines highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
Proven leadership experience managing supervisors, programmers, technicians, and production personnel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Bilingual English and Spanish required.
