About the Role:
Tens Machine Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced, high-caliber CNC Machinist – 1st Class / Supervisor to join our precision manufacturing team in Holbrook, NY. This is a day-shift, hands-on leadership position focused on the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of advanced CNC horizontal machining centers and multi-pallet cell systems.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
- Setup & Operation: Lead the setup, programming adjustments, and operation of CNC horizontal machining centers and cell systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex machining, tooling, and production issues independently to minimize downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Perform precise in-process dimensional checks using advanced inspection equipment to ensure 100% compliance with blueprints and aerospace specifications.
- Tooling Management: Execute tool changes, manage offsets, and optimize cutting tool efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Monitor daily production processes, collaborate with quality/inspection personnel, and help maintain workflow and safety standards on the shop floor.
- Documentation: Review and meticulously complete all required aerospace in-process documentation and prepare finished parts for final inspection.
- Shop Stewardship: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe cell environment in accordance with company safety and quality procedures.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):
- Experience: 10+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-precision manufacturing or job shop environment is highly preferred.
- Aerospace Expertise: Prior experience manufacturing aerospace components is a major plus.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in setting up and operating horizontal machining centers (HMCs) or horizontal cell systems.
- Controls: Strong familiarity with Fanuc controls is a significant advantage.
- Tooling Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and tooling changes.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to easily interpret complex engineering blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and dimensional requirements.
- Inspection Skills: Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Leadership Traits: A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and support team goals.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy for logging data and tracking production documents.
Schedule & Flexibility:
- Type: Full-time, Day Shift
- Standard Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Friday: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (We offer flexibility with these hours for the right candidate)
