    Description

    JSG is a professional/Engineering and Technical search firm, seeking a Tooling and CNC Operator for 2nd shift with one of our clients in Naperville, IL.

    Job Summary
    The Tooling and CNC Operator is responsible for fabricating dies for the manufacturing process. Responsibilities include partnering with operations to define tooling needs and priorities and running the CNC lathe and mill machines.

    Essential Functions
    • Preparing CNC lathe machine and CNC mill machine for operation through basic maintenance and quality checks.
    • Inspecting first workpieces from the CNC and delivering to QC inspectors for initial review.
    • Troubleshooting of machine malfunction and assisting set-up personnel in troubleshooting die malfunction.
    • Building new tools and fixing broken components for smooth machine
    • product creation and die fitting.
    • Sharpening tools, blades, and punches.
    • Creating spare parts for the automation technician for component piece replacement.
    • Running CNC lathe to create final product from copper and aluminum.
    • Building, restoring, altering, and servicing a variety of tools/ dies for workpieces.
    • Working with the set-up personnel to identify priority die fabrication.
    • Utilizing drawings and sketches, but at times being able to work where no design is available.
    • Utilizing blocks and dies to help with the differing dimensions.
    • Complying with all safety regulations as defined in safety guidelines for the manufacturing floor.
    • Understanding and following SPECIAL CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
    • Understanding and following the non-conforming material guidelines.
    • Understanding and following quality alerts for known product defects or potential defects.
    • Understanding and following label requirements.
    • Understanding and following 5s requirements.
    • Understanding and following the Layered Process Audits.
    • Understanding and following any rework or repair instructions.
    • Understanding and following the Calibration System for measuring equipment.
    • Any other duties as required.
    Knowledge
    • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Mathematical—Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, count) in different units of measurement.
    • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

    • Language — Basic reading and writing in preferred language.
    • Communication— Conveying and understanding information.
    • Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
    • Time management — Managing one’s time and deadlines.

    Qualifications Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
    Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as tool room personnel, preferred.
    • Recommend: Manufacturing related experience
