AXIS ENGINEERING- CNC MACHINIST

This is a 3rd Shift position with opportunities to work on a variety of complex machining projects in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce precision components.
• Edit and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
• Develop machining strategies that minimize setups while maximizing productivity.
• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds appropriate for each job.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including:
• • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Dial indicators
  • Vernier measuring tools
• Operate manual shop equipment including:
• • Knee mills
  • Surface grinders
  • Manual lathes
  • Band saws
  • Hand tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles.
• Work independently while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safety-first workplace.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC equipment.
• CNC programming or CNC/CAM editing experience.
• Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and precision measurement.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
