    Keltia Design Inc. is a technical support services company providing engineering design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace industry in WA state and around the US, and Canada.

    CNC Machinist

    Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

    Responsibilities

    Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.

    Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures and certify/test product.

    Qualifications

    Must be able to efficiently setup and run one or more of the following types of equipment independently and meet expected manufacturing standards:

    • CNC Mill
    • CNC Turn

    Experience & Knowledge

    • Required knowledge of GD&T, and ability to read blueprints, parts drawings, and setup books.
    • Preferred Math skills such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Desire to work in team environment: work positively and collaboratively with others, contribute to the work cell, be open and receptive to ideas and feedback, and treat others with respect

    Skills & Competencies:

    • High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years related experience.
    • Post high school coursework or professional certification preferred.
