CNC Machinist Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; machining coursework preferred.
- 2+ years of experience setting up and running CNC machinery-Haas or Mazak experience a plus.
- Strong blueprint reading and math skills for precision work.
- Excellent attention to detail and safety.
- Must be able to lift (up to) 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
How You'll Spend Your Day- Set up and operate CNC vertical, horizontal, and milling machines
- Perform CNC programming using G-code and make program edits as needed
- Utilize Mazak conversational programming (if applicable)
- Set up jobs including tooling, fixtures, and offsets (touch-offs)
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and specialty gauges
- Program and setup jobs using CAM software (Edgecam specifically)
- Ensure parts meet specifications and maintain high-quality standards
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes as needed
