We are hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to own setup, programming, and operation of Haas CNC milling equipment, including a Haas TM-3P. Machining is the core of this role. When the mill isn't running, you'll cross-train on a JD Squared XR12 CNC tube and pipe cutter, robotic welding cells, inspection, and fit-up. Training is provided on equipment-specific software and processes. This is a strong fit for a machinist who wants to grow into automation and robotics.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate Haas CNC mills, including workholding, tooling, work offsets, tool offsets, probing, and first-part setup
Create, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and M-code
Select cutting tools, feeds and speeds, depths of cut, and machining sequences based on material, geometry, and tolerance
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, tolerances, and GD&T
Perform first-part and in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators
Program and operate the JD Squared XR12 tube cutter, including importing STEP files, verifying geometry, and assigning cutting and drilling operations
Load and set up square, rectangular, and round tube, pipe, angle, and channel on the XR12
Set up Hypertherm Powermax85 SYNC plasma cutting parameters, including cartridge selection, amperage, and pierce settings
Support robotic welding cells, including fixture setup, part loading, torch alignment, TCP verification, and weld parameter checks
Set up and align fixtures, clamps, and workholding for machining, robotic welding, and fabrication
Assist with fit-up, tack welding, deburring, drilling, and material prep as needed
Troubleshoot tooling issues, dimensional variation, program errors, plasma cut quality, and fixture problems
Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
Work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve cycle times, fixtures, tooling, and repeatability
Document setups, first-part results, and process issues
Required Qualifications
5 to 8 years of hands-on CNC machining experience with a focus on CNC mill setup, programming, and operation
Haas CNC experience strongly preferred, with the ability to independently set up jobs, set offsets, and produce good first parts
Strong working knowledge of G-code and M-code
Solid understanding of cutting tools, tool holders, speeds and feeds, drilling, tapping, milling, and coolant application
Ability to read complex blueprints, machining callouts, weld symbols, and GD&T
Proficient with precision measuring tools
Experience machining carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Comfortable working with machine controls, digital drawings, and electronic job files
Willing to learn tube processing, plasma cutting, and robotic welding
High school diploma or GED
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
CAM software or CAD/STEP file experience is a plus
Conversational programming experience is a plus
Robotic welding, teach pendant, or TCP setup experience is a plus
Welding, fitting, or metal fabrication experience is a plus
Trade school, apprenticeship, or certification in CNC machining, welding, robotics, or automation is a plus
Benefits and Compensation
$60,000 to $80,000 annual salary, depending on experience
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
401(k)
Paid training on robotic welding, CNC tube processing, and plasma systems
Immediate start
