Cogitic is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in a high-mix, low-volume environment supporting critical national defense programs. This role is responsible for setting up and operating advanced CNC equipment, proving out programs, troubleshooting machining challenges, and producing complex, high-quality components.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines
Read and interpret blueprints, models, tolerances, and GD&T
Review and prove out CNC programs using Mastercam and NCSimul
Utilize Renishaw probing and tool-setting systems
Machine complex components, including exotic and heat-resistant alloys
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot machining issues and improve setups, cycle times, and quality
Maintain accurate work order and process documentation in ProShop ERP
What We're Looking For
5–10 years of machining experience
Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Programming, Drafting, or related field
Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling
Strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and mechanical problem-solving skills
Experience with CNC setup and complex machining processes
Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
U.S. citizenship
Ability to pass a background check and obtain/maintain a security clearance
