CNC Machinist

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience with mills and/or lathes

- Experience with Prototrak or other conversational programming controls

- Ability to program, set up, and operate machines independently

- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills

- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection practices

- Ability to work effectively in a job shop / non-production machining environment

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adaptability

- Ability to work on-site in Columbia, SC

- Must be eligible to work in the United States

- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test

- SolidWorks experience preferred, but not required

- Experience with custom tooling or fixture work preferred, but not required

- Candidates may be expected to provide basic machinist tools, including dial or digital calipers, micrometers up to 3", .0005 indicator, edge finder, 1-2-3 blocks, precision parallels, calculator, mallet, and adjustable wrench

Physical Requirements: Work is conducted in a machine shop environment and requires the physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive manual tasks, bend, reach, and safely handle materials, tooling, and fixtures. This role may require lifting up to 50 lbs. and working around CNC equipment, manual machinery, cutting tools, metal chips, coolants, and shop noise. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and other required shop safety gear, must be worn at all times. All tasks must be performed in compliance with established safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures.

Work Relationships and Environment: The CNC Machinist reports to the appropriate shop supervisor or manufacturing lead and works closely with engineering, production, and quality team members. This role requires effective communication with internal departments to clarify requirements, resolve machining issues, support changing priorities, and ensure parts are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
