We are seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machining centers used in the production of shelter components. This role is responsible for producing high-quality parts while following blueprints, work instructions, and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machining centers including HAAS, FADAL, and MATSUURA machines
Read and follow blueprints, routings, and work instructions
Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, boring, tapping, threading, reaming, chamfering, and deburring
Inspect parts using measuring and inspection equipment to ensure quality standards are met
Assist with building and repairing fixtures, jigs, tooling, and shop aids
Produce parts for production, prototypes, and maintenance projects
Load and unload materials and finished parts
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience
Experience setting up and operating CNC vertical milling machines
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
Basic shop math skills, including fractions and decimals
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
NIMS CNC Mill Setup and Operations Certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with machine noise
Ability to safely work around machinery and industrial equipment
