DMI is a locally owned-operated machine shop serving regional and international customers, specialize in high-tolerance precision mill-turn machining of production jobs. We manage individual parts and assemblies, as well as jobs requiring additional vendors such as plating/anodizing, laser engraving, powder coating, sheet-metal, and plastic molding. We provide full in-house quality control, including CMM and first article inspection.

Job Summary
We're looking for skilled CNC Machinists to join our team and contribute to our mission of excellence.
As a CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality parts to customer specifications. You'll work from technical drawings and follow strict quality standards to ensure precision and consistency.
Compensation
$30–$60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Select and install proper tooling and fixtures.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Maintain machine cleanliness and follow safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records.
- Report to shop manager with updates and issues.
- Help others to keep machines running and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience (or equivalent training).
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills (not required)
- Experience with Multiaxis Machines
- Knowledge of software like Fusion, Excel, Calypso.
