Job Summary:
Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A), a leading provider of repairs, services, and parts for the Power Generation industry, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Bearings, Seals & Hydraulics Division.
This is a hands-on machining role within a busy repair services facility supporting power generation equipment. Successful candidates will utilize CNC machining expertise to produce precision components while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machine tools to manufacture precision parts.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production schedules.
Install and align tooling, fixtures, attachments, and materials on machines.
Select appropriate cutting tools, machines, and materials for specific machining operations.
Modify CNC programs as needed to optimize machining performance.
Load, retrieve, and manage part programs and machine data.
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to speeds and feeds as required.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to verify specifications.
Record operational and production data accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Support other shop operations as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
2 to 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience operating and setting up CNC machinery.
Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documents.
Proficiency with precision measurement tools, including:
Micrometers.
Vernier calipers.
Indicators.
Tape measures.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 6S safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with repair shop or job shop environments.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
