Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to support precision machining work in a job‑shop environment. This role requires strong hands‑on experience setting up, adjusting, and independently operating Haas CNC milling centers. The machinist will work from blueprints and engineering drawings to produce high‑accuracy parts, perform in‑process edits, and ensure all work meets dimensional and tolerance requirements.

The ideal candidate is a senior CNC machinist with deep Haas milling experience, strong blueprint interpretation skills, and the ability to independently set up and run machines in a job‑shop environment. Someone who thrives in non‑production machining, enjoys solving machining challenges, and consistently delivers high‑precision results.

Responsibilities:

  • Align and secure fixtures, tooling, attachments, and materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements.
  • Determine machining methods, sequences, and appropriate tooling.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and material‑handling equipment.
  • Monitor machine feed, speed, and cutting conditions during machining.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced job‑shop setting.
  • Load programs, set work offsets, verify tooling, and perform basic program edits as needed.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate Haas CNC milling machines for one‑off and small‑batch machining work.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • All education levels considered.
  • 5–10 years of hands‑on CNC machining experience.
  • Experience performing in‑process edits and adjustments.
  • Strong proficiency in Haas CNC milling setup and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a small team.
  • Strong understanding of shop safety and material‑handling procedures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Job‑shop or toolroom machining background.
  • Experience machining one‑off or prototype parts.
  • Familiarity with multiple materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, etc.)

Working Environment:

  • On‑site machining environment.
  • Requires standing, lifting, and operating shop equipment.
